Prudential Northwest Properties Volunteers: Making an Impact

Prudential Northwest Properties Clark County real estate professionals Diana Requa and Tammy Bachofner, longtime supporters of Transitional Youth, serve homeless youth at the downtown Outreach Center in Portland every month. Warmly referred to as “Las Tres Amigas” they, along with the help of Iris Wellman and a few regular volunteers and sponsors, buy groceries then prepare and serve a taco dinner the first Thursday of each month.

Volunteer Spotlight: Diana Requa and Tammy Bachofner

Inspired to help about ten years ago when Transitional Youth founder Bert Waugh, Jr., Chairman of Prudential Northwest Properties, encouraged each Prudential branch office to adopt a night to serve the kids, Diana has been a faithful volunteer ever since, recruiting Tammy and additional friends to pitch in over the years. “I get more out of my volunteering than I can possibly give,” says Diana. “I would strongly encourage people to support Transitional Youth in general with your time, talents, and/or finances. There are so many different areas that a person can get involved. The Outreach is just on eof the steps in our program, but it’s the crucial first step. Where else can you donate $147 and know that your tax deductible donation is going directly to buy groceries to serve approximately 100 homeless youth a hot meal?”

To Diana, Tammy, Iris, and all of those that support them, a sincere “thank you” for making a difference in the lives of our local homeless youth.

A big “Thank You” to Clark County Northwest’s Karla LaRowe and her husband Craig for their generous donation to Transitional Youth of the net proceeds from their Movie Movers retail clearance sale on Sunday. Thanks also to our super volunteers who supported the efforts at the Hazel Dell sale: Lorre Jaffe, Cheryl Williams, Deanna & Torre Bryson, Teresa Litman, and Marjorie Summers.
